Andy Moss is gearing up for a big dark new Doctors storyline opposite former Coronation Street star Lucy-Jo Hudson.

Fans of the BBC daytime soap will see the pair make their first appearance later this month, taking on the roles of 'happy couple' Paul Cuthbert and Rhiannon Davis.

The two characters are introduced when established regular Emma Reid (Dido Miles) sees Rhiannon, who is heavily pregnant.

Emma is charmed by the chirpy demeanour of Rhiannon and her boyfriend, but everything may not be as it seems.

While familiar faces often only appear for an episode or two when they guest on Doctors, the storyline for Rhiannon and Paul will be an extended one which lasts for several weeks.

Show insiders have promised that the plot will take some dark turns, but viewers will have to tune in to find out what's in store for Emma as she gets involved in the couple's lives.

Doctors launches the new storyline on Thursday, April 14 at 1.45pm on BBC One.
