Lee Brennan - Cinderella

Lee Brennan will star as Prince Charming in Leas Cliff Hall's much- anticipated Christmas pantomime, Cinderella, running from Friday 10 th to Friday 31 st December 2021.

Known for their breakdancing, back flips and catchy pop tunes, Lee and his 911 bandmates, Jimmy Constable and Simon ‘Spike’ Dawbarn, shot to fame (and straight into the hearts of millions of teenage girls across the globe) back in the late 90s. In an era when boybands dominated the pop music scene, the dynamic trio stood out from the crowd with their high energy performances winning them a legion of loyal fans, phenomenal success and securing their place as one of the most enduringly popular groups of the decade.

In the five years they were together, 911 sold over 10 million records worldwide including 4 studio albums and 13 singles. They were one of only five acts in the 90s to achieve ten consecutive UK Top Ten Hit Singles, eight of which were Top Five Hits and included their platinum-selling Number One single ‘A Little Bit More’. They played to sell-out arenas on their tours of the UK, Europe and Asia, playing to 70,000 people in Singapore alone and headlined the legendary Smash Hits Tour in 1998.

After announcing their split in 2000 live on the Chris Moyles Radio 1 Breakfast Show, the band re-formed in 2013 for ITV2’s fly-on-the-wall documentary, The Big Reunion. Featuring some of the best-loved groups of the 90s including Five, Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Blue and Liberty X, the show documented the ups and downs of pop success as the bands prepared for a spectacular come-back concert. The highly acclaimed programme was watched by over 2 million people and led to a sell-out arena tour which saw the reassembled acts play to over 200,000 devoted fans.

Early in 2020 911 marked their 25 th anniversary as a group performing yet again to sell-out crowds throughout the UK with The Boys Are Back tour alongside Five, A1 and Damage.

An accomplished songwriter, Lee co-wrote many 911 songs and also co-wrote the Number One smash hit single ‘If you Come Back’ released by fellow boyband Blue which sold over a million copies worldwide. Lee is also an experienced stage actor; he starred as Willard in 80 performances of Footloose the Musical and has appeared in numerous pantomimes across the UK including playing the Prince in Sleeping Beauty and the Beast in Beauty and the Beast. For producers Paul Holman Associates Lee has headlined as Aladdin (Carriageworks Theatre Leeds, Pomegranate Theatre Chesterfield) and Peter Pan (Assembly Rooms Derby) but will take on the role of Prince Charming in Cinderella for the first time this Christmas.

Pantomime Producer Paul Holman said: “Lee is a fabulous performer and has the perfect blend of charisma, charm and sensational vocals that are bound to leave the audience spellbound. After a very challenging time, panto is the perfect antidote and we are pulling out all the stops to make sure this is the best one yet.” Cinderella will be produced by Leas Cliff Hall and award-winning pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates and promises to be the Folkestone venue’s most magical production ever with spectacular special effects, glittering scenery and costumes plus an abundance of comedy, song and dance and plenty of audience interaction guaranteed to entertain the whole family.
